Standard Response Protocol (SRP)
This includes weather events, fires, accidents, and any other threat to personal safety. The (SRP) utilizes (5) standard responses:
- HOLD(New)
- “In Your Room or Area”
- Hold is called when halls or common areas need to be temporary cleared
- Recover people in the hallway
- Lock door
- Account for visitors and others
- Do business as usual
- SECURE (formerly LOCKOUT) “Get inside. Lock outside door”
- Recover student, visitors, and staff from outside building
- Lock exterior door
- Increase situational awareness
- Account for students, visitors, and others
- LOCKDOWN “Locks, Lights, Out of Sight”
- Recover people from hallway if it is safe to do so
- Move away from sight
- Maintain silence
- Prepare to evade or defend
- Lock door
- Lights out
- Do not open the door
- Prepare to evade or defend
- EVACUATE“To a location” – unless identified to respond to emergencies
- Bring roll sheet and to go bag
- Lead people to evacuation location
- Account for students, visitors, and others
- Report injuries or problems to first responders using red card/green card method
- SHELTER“state hazard and safety strategy”
- Hazards include
- Tornado
- Hazmat
- Earthquake
- Tsunami
- Safety strategies
- Evacuate to shelter area
- Seal room
- Drop, cover, and hold
- Get to high ground
- Lead appropriate safety strategies for hazards
- Account for students, visitors, and others
- Report injuries or problems to first responders using red card/ green card method
- Hazards include
- “In Your Room or Area”
